TCP Server Settings:
Note::You will have to port forward if you want to use this option over the internet!!
I will not be answering questions about how to port forward on your router, etc.. use google for that!!
On the Pot Tab in the bottom groupBox, there are some settings for the remote (TCP) options...
The TextBox on the left is the IP of the Resser that the resAccepters will connect to.
The TextBox on the right is the port the TCP server/client will use to communicate with.
(** The current release is limited to using port 420, you can change
the setting, but it will only cause errors. Just leave it at 420 until I
get around to fixing it. **)
The Local Host button will simply set the server textbox to "127.0.0.1".
The Local IP button will set the server textbox to your computer's local network IP address.
The Outside IP button will set the server textbox to your internet IP
address (it connects to my website to get the external IP).
These buttons are here for you to easily get your IP addresses.
The Remote features allow you to Res/Heal party members that are not running on the same PC as the Resser character.
To Res/Heal across the internet:
The Resser will 1st need to port forward port 420 to allow incomming
connections. (use google to find out how to port forward.)
Next set
up the ResCast settings for the resser, check the "remote" checkbox and
then check the "enable" checkbox. (The indicator light will light up
green.)
The ResAccepter will 1st need to input the outside IP
address of the Resser into the server textbox (TCP Server settings on
the Pot Tab).
Select the character name of the ResAccepter (on the
Res Tab), check the "Remote" checkbox, and then check the "Enable"
checkbox. (The indicator light will light up green while it is sending
data.)
The Resser's Party Member # character selection box will
show the name of the ResAccepter and will show the ResAccepter's current
HP in the HP% label.
To Res/Heal across a local network:
You will not need to port forward to use the Remote feature across a local network.
This is the same as using it across the internet except you will need
to use the "Local IP" in place of the "Outside IP" for the ResAccepter.
Note:: A good delay time to use for both resCast and resAccept is 2 or 3. (This goes for both normal and remote usage.)
Click here to go to the website and download the beta.
I'll be updating the website when I have time.. (There is more info in this post than at the website.)
Thats it for now... It's late and I'm going to bed, keep an eye on the website for more info later...
